Although hailing from Tokyo, Japan, Ren always found himself drawn to American Traditional design work. The stylistic elements of American Traditional tattooing flooded the Japanese streets, becoming prevalent in sign painting and logo design throughout his early years, solidifying the love he had for the content. In fact, it was Ren’s love for this Americana style that pushed him into the tattoo industry.

While he found a deep love for American Traditional, Ren also appreciated his own ancestry and developed a passion for the Japanese traditional style of tattooing, as well. Realizing the genre was not as internationally relevant as the American Traditional, Ren took to the road to help expose the artform across an international platform.

Currently, Ren brings his Japanese Traditional style of tattooing to Black Line Studio in Toronto, Canada.
